Finding the Calm Beneath the Chaos   Watch Webcast

Shifting from Patient to Person   Watch Webcast

What happens to patients once they complete their treatment program? This is the start of the tenuous survivorship phase of cancer, which remains active until end of life. It can be remarkably difficult, as people are asked to shed their structured medical routines, leave the security of advice from the healthcare community and return to work-related activities.  In addition, exhausted family and friends often decrease contact and support.  During this time, people can lose their sense of identity as their minds and bodies seem unfamiliar, even foreign. Frustration rises as no one seems to understand. Nothing feels as if it will ever be “normal” again.
